This product design is based on a long-term market research with gathered information from all-over the world from a large and comprehensive selection of the largest and most forward looking players.

All parts of the platform are designed to be high quality, efficient, safe&secure and cost effective. These qualities are achieved through innovation and co-operation.
High quality:

All products are tested thoroughly and they are selected from a certified set of suppliers and also manufactured in certified factories. Also all accessories are high quality components. The whole testing procedure includes the testing of the components (both Hardware and software) and the testing of the constructed products and finally the testing of the final product (with electrical stress-testing). This leads to excellent quality and assurance that all the parts and qualities of the product are well known.
Efficient:

All parts of the Concept serve a purpose in the solution. There are no unnecessary parts. However there are safeguards in place – the safety and thereof the quality has not been compromised in any way. Through innovation we have implemented techniques such as the Multi-i/o, Multiplexed serial interfaces, simplified backup battery charging and phone-line interfacing, Extension slots for flexible addition of features, Gateway (control and media) and several state-of-the-art embedded programming solutions. The Meritie M2M Protocol is also a good example of an efficient and moreover extremely robust yet simple way of transferring data through noisy networks. The Product has been also optimized with minimized complexity of the board with the optimal use of space compared to the pcb area and thus the casing area and so on. There have also been several other points of optimization used.

Power usage has also been designed so that the card can function with less-than 500mA currency with small equipment load and the maximum has been set to 1500mA (to be safe) when for example using 16 relays ON with some additional systems and more. There are also special power-saving additional units being designed like for example the card is easy and fast to install to customers location.

In conclusion the card has been designed with the principle “less-is-more” and that is why the card presents so wide variety of functions with minimal set of components. This leads to the strong point that it should not be commercially possible to produce this functionality in any other way.
Safe&Secure:

All the cards features (and also other components features both Software and Hardware) have been designed to be safe. This is mainly achieved with extensive testing and careful design. For example the card has two separate fuses to protect it. The software structures are all deterministic and finite state. Also all update and control features have security features such as passwords, master codes, key-tone-codes (dtmf), security-codes and furthermore encryption if necessary. There are also special procedures that must be followed. All product casings are designed to be safe also.
Cost-Effective:

The M2M Platform is designed to be thoroughly cost-effective. All the individual components have been designed no costly third-party technologies. All the accessories are provided through Merities extensive supplier network that is guaranteed to be the lowest priced but High-quality products. And while the Platform is independent from any one component then the components can be replaced by the customer or a system integrator. Also the card can use advanced methods of packaging the information of several systems to be sent for example in just one sms-message or in one IP-packet etc. Furthermore in large cases such as large buildings only few modems are needed…
