Meritie has selected this model after long tests. We will offer this modem also for other system integrators here in Finland.
The GM29 is a plug and play device with an integral SIM card reader and standard RS232 connector interfaces, so it plugs directly into the application or computer and it is ready to be used as a wireless modem. The GM29 can send and receive data by GPRS, HSCSD, CSD, SMS and fax as well as handle voice calls. By incorporating the latest GPRS technology the modem can maintain an “always on” connection with the network allowing M2M customers to benefit from quicker call set up times, faster data transmission rates and from only paying for the data they use.
The solution offered by the GM29 is ideal for manufacturers, system integrators and application developers who are focused on decreased time to business and value the adaptability offered by a plug and play device. The GM29 can also be customized for embedded software applications and is type approved for dual band 900MHz/1800MHz operation.
With demand for machine-to-machine solutions expected to significantly increase year-on-year over the next few years, Sony Ericsson’s range of modules which cover world-wide standards (GSM, TDMA, CDMA) is well placed to serve the increasing market needs.
